Our Mission:
Play Cafe, Inc. is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to support the creation and development of new works by San Francisco Bay Area playwrights and composers.
Our Values:
As playwrights and composers, we have the opportunity to make powerful contributions to the dialogue about Justice, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion.
We do so in the following ways:

We strive to be a gateless community, by reducing barriers to participation in our programs whenever possible. Most of our programs are open to the public and often by donation. No one is turned away for lack of funds.

When we meet in person, we endeavor to use venues that are ADA compliant and close to public transportation.

We hire diverse artists who reflect our community.

Our Advisory Board reflects our community’s demographics and we value their skill sets and points of view.
Land Acknowledgement:
We recognize that we are on the land of the Ohlone people, the Indigenous people of the East Bay. We acknowledge that Ohlone people have lived here in this beautiful place for time immemorial and continue to live and thrive here in the present day. We stand with the Ohlone people and respect their Indigenous sovereignty and in this beloved, ancient place.
